Understanding the craft behind the atmosphere.
Scent layering is the art of burning multiple candles simultaneously to create a "scent symphony." We recommend starting with a floral foundation (like HER), adding a structural woody note (like HIM), and finishing with a transitional scent (like THEM). This creates a complex, evolving atmosphere that a single candle cannot achieve.
Coconut soy wax is a sustainable, renewable resource that offers a significantly cleaner burn than petroleum-based paraffin. It is virtually soot-free and has a lower melting point, which allows your candle to burn up to 50% longer while providing a more robust, consistent fragrance throw.
Yes. Every BLK Sunflower candle is hand-poured using Phthalate-free fragrance oils and a non-toxic wax blend. We exclusively use FSC-certified cotton wicks to ensure a clean, safe burn for your home and family, free from harmful lead or zinc cores.
To maximize your candle's life, always trim the cotton wick to 1/4 inch before every burn. Ensure the first burn lasts long enough for the wax to melt completely across the top to prevent "tunneling," and never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
Our heavy-weighted matte black glass is designed to be kept. Once 1/2 inch of wax remains, carefully pour out the melted wax or place the vessel in the freezer to pop out the remaining puck. Clean with warm soapy water and repurpose as a luxury planter, makeup brush holder, or minimalist desk organizer.
